Face Off - Water Cooler Vs Water Crock

Here is a fact for you: One of the leading causes of death in the world is due to a lack of clean drinking water. Every year, three out of every five children die because of drinking contaminated and impure water. Because of urbanization and growing pollution, health hazards are becoming more prevalent.

4 1 2 Grinder

This fact does not mean to scare you or make you feel anxious about the water that you drink. In the past, the way for us to drink fresh is to boil them or add chlorine to the water, but it is rare that we are able to capture the "no-taste" taste of fresh clean water. Fortunately, there are several different options for homes and offices to avail of fresh and cold water for us to drink! For the corporate professionals, there is a huge likelihood that you have a water cooler in your office. What is gaining steady popularity now is the availability of ceramic water crocks. Why would one choose a water crock over a water cooler? Feel free to make a choice from the following features of both dispensers:

4 1 2 Grinder

Water Crocks:

1. Water crocks are made of 100%, all natural material. No harmful chemicals can potentially affect the taste of the water you drink.
2. The water remains cold. You can leave it there for a couple of hours and the water remains cool.
3. The crock can hold large amounts of water. You can opt to choose various gallon sizes for your water dispenser.
4. No water contamination. Since you are using a ceramic container, there is no potential risk for any chemical substance to seep through.
5. No impact to electricity bill. You can have ten ceramic water dispensers and not impact your electricity bill by a single cent!
6. It's easier to clean. The bottles are easier to carry, and so the crock is more convenient to clean.
7. You have more options. Choose from a wide array of colors and designs!

Water coolers:

1. Can have damaging chemicals that get in your water. The water cooler has the same substance used for refrigerators. This has the tendency to leak through the plastic.
2. The water remains cold. This is one feature that is shared by both dispensers.
3. The water you put in is limited. There are specific sizes depending on the type of cooler that you purchase.
4. The plastic material will damage the environment. Throwing it away does not completely get rid of the plastic bottles; it continues to rapidly fill our landfills.
5. It's plugged in 24 hours a day. A 24/7 electronic device, no matter how small, will impact your electricity costs.
6. A little more challenging to clean. Replacing the water bottle and cleaning it is a bit more difficult than the water crock.
7. Options are black, white or stainless steel. No other options to personalize or customize it unlike the water crock.

Our generation today is slowly starting to become financially and environmentally sensitive. Based on the features above, it is quite obvious that the ceramic water dispenser would be the most cost efficient and earth friendlier choice. Choose the one that's best for you!

The Producers of Coffee Beans From Around the World

There is no place on earth where coffee drinking has not reached spreading its wings from its original land of discovery in Ethiopia. However, since coffee beans need plenty of sunlight and rainfall to prosper, they can only be panted in regions with tropical and sub-tropical climate.

4 1 2 Grinder

A Turkish saying describes coffee in the following words, - black as hell, strong as death, sweet as love - which is found on a narrow zone near the equator from 23 Degrees North to 25 Degrees South. As a product coffee which comes from beans grown in more than 70 countries runs a close second to oil in terms of dollar volume.

4 1 2 Grinder

By far Brazil is the largest producer of coffee beans making an output of 28% of the total on an average. World famous Columbia falls far behind as a second producing 16%, with Indonesias output standing at just 7%. The fourth largest producer still reduces to half at 4% output.

Coffee trees produce the best beans at higher altitudes but can also adjust to different kinds of regions.

In Brazil, coffee plantations stretch across huge areas where hundreds of people look after the plants. In Columbia, the uneven mountains and limited economic facilities render transportation to processing centers by Jeep or mules.

While in Columbia what we see is mountains lined by trees, in Hawaii coffee trees are planted on Mauna Loa volcanos slopes. The dark ash of the volcano is rugged but ideal for the plants thriving under the scorching afternoon sun shaded at times by tropical clouds. Periodic island downpour provide plenty of required rainfall.

Indonesia is made up of thousands of islands where coffee has been produced since the 17 century when it was introduced by the Dutch colonists. Many other countries may have access to the best technology, but no can compete with the great warmth of the sun and damp micro climates that is found here. In the largest islands of Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi countless one or two acre farms make Indonesia come third in the production of coffee all over the world.

Contrary to Brazil, plantations in Mexico are mainly small farms but with over 100,000 of them the total still stands strong enough to make the country an immensely contributing factor. The majority of them are placed in the south, like, Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chiapas, with the significant Altura beans named after their place of origin at high levels of altitude.

Though small producers, Africa, Kenya and Ivory Coast, are famous all over the world for the large, dark beans grown here. In the foothills of Mount Kenya are found some of the biggest beans which are used for making a very famous fruity coffee. The Ivory Coast specifically is important as the highest producer of robusta, frequently used in espresso coffee.

Coffee is ubiquitously found throughout the world and is extremely well-liked no matter if it the Indian Monsoon Malabar, the Tanzanian Peaberry, the Brazilian Liberdade or the Costa Rican La Fuente.

Coffee Table on Wheels - Living in Small Spaces

Who needs a coffee table on wheels? If you live in a small apartment or if you have a very limited living space, chances are good that you do! There are plenty of people out there who move around from small space to small space, and there is a good chance that you are one of them. When you are looking to save space, a few tips can help out when it comes to figuring out how to make the most of the space that you have.

4 1 2 Grinder

1.Everything in its place

4 1 2 Grinder

If you don't have a designated space for everything you own, you are going to find that you are going to be dealing with a perpetual mess. Think about good options for shelving, store things that you are currently not using.

2.Tuck it away!

One thing that can make your place look larger is the use of things that get folded away when they are not in use. The aforementioned coffee table on wheels is a great example of this. When you are done, roll it away and get some more walking space.

3.Build up

What kind of shelving can you put up? The more things that are not on the floor, the larger your place will feel. This can go a long way towards getting you the results that you are interested in. You can use the wheeled coffee table as a place to put your extra blankets, pillows, CD's, and DVD's.

4.Don't skimp on trash cans

If you find that you are fighting clutter and trash every time you turn around, make sure that you put a trash can down near the location. Even a small apartment may need two or three small wastebaskets, so make sure that you are meeting that need as it arises.

There are plenty of ways and means to get your small living space back to where it needs to be. Understand your space, design for your needs, and make sure that you take a look and see what a coffee table on wheels can do for you!

Recipe For Raw Chocolate Bars

Since 1842, when Cadbury's of England created the first chocolate bar, millions of people have had a love affair with chocolate. It's estimated that the average American eats 4.5 kilos per year and the average Swiss eats 9.5!

4 1 2 Grinder

Of course the history of chocolate stretches back to ancient Olmec and Aztec civilizations where it was considered to be a "Food of the Gods."

4 1 2 Grinder

I personally was never a big fan of chocolate, at least not until I started experiencing pure raw cacao. I think the reason is that normal chocolate has literally been cooked to death. To make a typical chocolate bar, cacao beans are crushed, fermented and then roasted at 150 C (300 F) for 1 - 2 hours. After that, they are tempered with boiling water for 20-30 minutes.

When you add processed sugar, milk products, preservatives, artificial colors, chemical flavors and more to this lifeless chocolate substance it's no wonder that some people develop allergies to chocolate. Interestingly, though, I've seen that most people with chocolate allergies, do not have a similar reaction with raw cacao.

Raw cacao has many nutritional benefits and is generally considered one of the most complete foods on the planet.

Since experiencing the effects of raw cacao for myself, I find myself using it often. I regularly add a few whole beans to my smoothies, I use cacao in salad dressings and sauces, and sometimes I just snack a few beans with a bit of agave or honey.

But, thanks to my partner Gabrielle's love of chocolate, I get most of my raw cacao in the form of great tasting raw chocolate bars.

I'm happy to share her basic recipe with you here.

To make this recipe you need a grinder or a mortar and pestle

Ingredients for simple chocolate:

1/2 C whole peeled cacao beans, ground
1/8 C coconut oil
1/8 C melted cacao butter (use coconut oil if not available)
1/4 C raw honey or raw agave syrup

Optional ingredients:

1/4 cup raisins
1 T almonds, finely chopped
1 drop orange, lemon, clove, lavender or other essential oil
Cinnamon to taste
Celtic sea salt to taste

Preparation:

Grind cacao until it is very fine. The cacao will have a consistency like raw almond butter and will stick to the sides of the grinder. Mix ground cacao with coconut oil or cacao butter in grinder. Remove mixture and add honey and other ingredients. Stir well with a fork. The mixture should be able to be poured. If not, add more coconut oil. Pour into ice cube trays or other forms and freeze for 45 minutes. Serve immediately after removing from the freezer.

A Few Interesting Facts About Cacao and Chocolate

The word 'Chocolate' comes from the Aztec word, "cacahuatl" or "xocolatl." This means 'bitter water'.

Raw Cacao was regarded as an aphrodisiac by Aztecs.

In 1624 Johan Franciscus Rauch an Austrian professor, tried to ban chocolate from monasteries and urged monks not to drink chocolate as he said it "inflamed passions."

Cacao contains antioxidants which may help prevent cancer and heart disease.

Cacao brings instant comfort and acts as a mild anti-depressant by increasing our serotonin and endorphin levels.

Cacao contains theobromine, which is a mild relative of caffeine and magnesium. This chemical is found in some tranquilisers. Because coffee also contains caffeine, it both picks you up and calms you down.

Cacao beans were so valuable in ancient Mexico that the Maya and subsequent Aztec and Toltec civilizations used them as a means of currency to pay for commodities and taxes.

The French Leader Napoleon insisted that wine, from the Burgundy vineyard called Chambertin, as well as chocolate be available during military campaigns.

During the Second World War, the U.S. Government commissioned Milton Hershey to create a candy bar to be included in soldier's rations. The candy bar chosen was the famous Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar.

Every Russian and American space voyage has included chocolate bars.

Grinders lack the glamour of routers, say, and compound miter saws, but when it's a grinder you need, we don't think there are too many better choices out there than this one. "You get what you pay for" is, we think, even more true in the world of tools than elsewhere, and this is definitely a case in point. We've never met a Bosch tool that lacked quality, precision engineering, ergonomics and power, and this grinder is no exception. Our favorite feature on this one is definitely the paddle switch, not just for comfort and convenience, but for the ultimate in safety and control. We're not big fans of the lock-on button, because it negates the safety feature of the paddle switch, but we know some of you wouldn't have it any other way.

Greek Coffee - How to Make Greek Coffee Properly

Greek coffee ("Ellinikos Kafes") is one of the simplest ways to make coffee. It is also known as Turkish coffee. Coffee has a very old history...

4 1 2 Grinder

It traveled to Turkey from Yemen and from Turkey it became known in Greece. It became so popular that people started calling it "Greek coffee" instead of Turkish (or Arabic) coffee.

4 1 2 Grinder

Differences

Usually Greek coffee gets roasted lighter than traditional Turkish coffee.

Another difference is that Greeks rarely add spices to their coffee.

How to make Greek coffee

The basic ingredient needed for a delicious Greek coffee is fresh roasted coffee, ground to an extra fine coffee powder (finer than espresso). You can also grind you own coffee beans using a traditional Greek coffee grinder or a modern high quality burr grinder.

Like Turkish coffee in order to make Greek coffee you basically bring a mixture of water and ground coffee almost to boil. Although Turkish people boil their coffee usually 3-4 times Greeks prefer boiling it 1-3 times.

The blends used to make Greek coffee have usually a high percentage of Brazilian coffees, and also some Robusta or a "secret" ingredient to add some more flavour (Colombian coffee, Ethiopia Harrar or Yemen Mocha).

In order to make Greek coffee we need a coffee pot known as briki in Greece. This special Greek coffee pot has a characteristic narrow top which facilitates the correct slow brewing of Turkish coffee and the forming of the famous "kaimaki", which is basically the crema-froth on top of the coffee.

Traditionally these pots were made of copper or brass, but nowadays they are mass produced using stainless steel which is more durable. (I still prefer the brass ibriks for lots of reasons...). Use the proper size coffee pot to make better coffee and better froth. If you are going to make two demitasse cups of coffee use a 2-cups size coffee pot. If you use a much larger sized pot, crema forming will be much harder.

For one cup of coffee, fill the coffee pot with one demitasse cup of cold water, 1-2 teaspoons of Greek coffee, sugar to taste, and then put the pot on low fire. It is very important to use low fire and cold water to extract more flavor from the coffee. Use a gas stove-top or preferably a traditional tabletop burner.

Once the mixture comes almost to a boil and the foam covers the top, pour it into a demitasse cup slowly. You must do this slowly in order to retain the crema layer (froth) on top. If you fail to remove the coffee pot from fire on time, the coffee mixture will foam up quickly and it will get spilled everywhere! Be careful to not let this happen!

Small tip if you want to make two cups or more

There is an old trick used to maximize the froth on top of every demitasse cup, which basically involves taking the froth with a teaspoon from the coffee pot and then adding it to each demitasse cup, before pouring the coffee.

Serving

Traditionally the coffee is served using decorative discs, in small demitasse cups made of fine porcelain.

You can also pair Greek coffee with a nice desert like cookies ("koulourakia"), "halva" or "baklava".

Things to notice

Some people bring the coffee to boil only once. Other people prefer twice and there are also some people who argue that bringing the coffee to boil three times is the absolute minimum.

Another point of argument is the stirring. Some people stir coffee, water and sugar only in the beginning and some other stir continuously till the end to make more froth.

Personal opinion

I prefer to stir the coffee continuously till the end and I also let it foam up twice.

"Why?" you may ask. It is just my taste! You can experiment and find what you like best.

What's most important is the freshness and the quality of your Greek coffee.

Goan Trout Recipe - Trout Does Not Get Much Better Than This

I am going to teach you the most amazing Goan Trout recipe! it was taught to me by my father when I was about seven. He was a real hippy in his day and travelled to Goa in his college years. He met my hippy mother there and this is the first meal they ate together. Well almost - the original recipe was some sort of white salt/fresh water fish he didn't recognise but we have always made it with trout which we caught in the creek behind our house.

4 1 2 Grinder

I have made it with many different types of fish but the mild flavour and tender meat of fresh trout is in my opinion as good as it gets. Feel free to experiment though. You may disagree.

4 1 2 Grinder

This is now one of my wife's favourite recipes. However, although I loved it as a kid, my kids have still failed to see the attraction!

Therefore I have written this recipe as a romantic dinner for two - just as my parents had all those years ago and my wife and I still enjoy now.

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 12 minutes

(Serves 2)

INGREDIENTS for Goan Trout

2 Very fresh trout slit three times with a sharp knife on both sides

2 Tablespoons garlic and ginger paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder

Tempering Ingredients
4 Tablespoons vegetable oil
10 fresh curry leaves (If you cannot find fresh curry leaves, use 20 dried)
1/2 teaspoon black mustard seeds

Cooking Marinade

10 black peppercorns
10 cloves
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
5 small red dried chilies

5 cloves of garlic
2 Tablespoons white wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar

To make the garlic and ginger paste

Place 5 cloves of garlic and a one inch piece of ginger in a spice grinder or pestle and mortar. Add about a tablespoon of water and grind to a paste. add the salt and chilli powder.

Marinade the trout

Rub the ginger/garlic paste onto the trout - both inside and out. Be sure to press it into the slits in the skin.

Let the fish marinade in the garlic and ginger mix for about an hour.

Now make the cooking marinade.

Pour the whole dry spices into a frying pan and roast over medium heat. When they begin to smoke, take off the heat.

In a spice grinder or pestle and mortar add the dry spices to the garlic, vinegar and salt and sugar. Grind to a fine paste.

To cook

Preheat your oven to 200c / 400f

When you are ready to impress your significant other. heat the oil in a frying pan large enough to hold both of the trout. When the oil is very hot, throw in the black mustard seeds and curry leaves

When the mustard seeds begin to pop, place the fish in the oil and let it cook for about two minutes per side.

Carefully remove the fish from the pan and place on a baking tray. Cover the top side of the fish with the cooking marinade and place in the oven.

Allow to cook in the oven for eight to ten minutes.

Enjoy with a tossed green salad.

This Goan trout is amazing!

How to Mig Weld Overhead - 4 Tips That Work

Do you want to learn how to mig weld overhead just as good as you can when the piece in laying in front of you on a bench? Of course you do or you wouldn't be reading this.

4 1 2 Grinder

Here's how. (these mig welding tips only apply to 1/8" and thicker steel)
Don't fear the heat KYSS...keep your stickout short Watch the angle of the dangle CCC...clean, clean, clean

4 1 2 Grinder

What do I mean by don't fear the heat? When you are a noob, you tend to think that in order to keep the weld from drooping and hanging down like a bad case of hemorrhoids, you need to turn down the voltage and wire speed. WRONG. You need to mig weld overhead just as hot as you when the weld is in the flat position right in front of you. BUT, in order to make this work, you need to...

KYSS. Keep Your Stickout Short. Too long a stickout (the amount of wire sticking out between the copper contact tip and the arc) will soften the arc and not let the beads flatten out.

Whereas using the same heat you would weld for flat position welding along with keeping your stickout short (1/2" or less) will cause the bead to punch in and the arc force will help the bead flatten out and not sag.

Watch the angle of the dangle too. The angle of the mig gun that is. Too much angle either way is bad, 90 degrees is good and a slight drag angle is probable best for penetration but lets be real...sometimes you have to push the puddle. Just don't get crazy with that angle whether you push or pull the mig gun.

Lastly, all the good mig welding techniques in the world wont help much if you welding on dirty, rusty, or oily metal. Use a grinder, a carbide burr, a wire brush, or whatever it takes to Clean, Clean, Clean. The metal does not have to be perfectly clean, but better too clean than too dirty.

How to Make Pumpkin Soup in a Crockpot

If you love the flavor of homemade pumpkin recipes, you can make crockpot soup to save yourself a lot of time. Crockpot cooking means you can leave your meal to cook itself while you are busy doing other things and crockpot recipes always taste smoother and more richly flavored than other dishes.

4 1 2 Grinder

Pumpkin is a great ingredient to cook in a crockpot because it is naturally sweet and juicy, and crockpot cooking makes it even more so.

4 1 2 Grinder

Types of Slow Cooked Pumpkin Soup Recipes

You can make spicy crockpot pumpkin soup, sweet crockpot pumpkin soup or another type. Pumpkin is so versatile that you can use it equally well in sweet or savory recipes. There are not many other vegetables you could say that about.

This soup does not have to be defined as sweet or savory and you can have sweet-flavored, savory pumpkin soup, combining ingredients like potato, onion, sugar, cream, and cinnamon. That combination would not work in many other recipes but pumpkin binds the savory ingredients with the sweet ones perfectly.

Recipe for Crockpot Curried Pumpkin Soup

This delicious pumpkin soup recipe can be served as it is, or used as a sauce for chicken, pork or another type of meat. There are spices in this pumpkin soup but the soup comes out very mild flavored, rather than fiery hot.

Garnish the soup with grated cheddar cheese and toasted cashew nuts for a really delicious taste and texture. This canned pumpkin soup recipe is suitable for beginner cooks, because it is so simple, and it makes a great lunch, dinner, or appetizer. This recipe makes enough for six servings.

Slow Cooked Pumpkin Soup with Mild Spices

What you will need:

4 cups vegetable broth 8 fl oz can evaporated milk 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup half and half 1/2 cup Maple syrup (not imitation maple syrup) 1 teaspoon garlic powder 29 oz can pumpkin puree 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon chili powder 2 teaspoons coriander seeds 1/4 teaspoon whole cloves 1/2 teaspoon green peppercorns
How to make it:

Toast the coriander seeds, peppercorns, and cloves in a hot, dry skillet. Add the ground spices and toast everything over a high heat for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the spices start smoking. Remove them from the heat, let them cool down, and grind to a powder using an electric coffee grinder or a mortar and pestle.

Pour the half and half, broth and evaporated milk into the crockpot. Stir the mixture well, cover the crockpot and turn it to high. Put the pureed pumpkin in a bowl with the salt, maple syrup, and powdered spice mixture and whisk to blend everything together.

Add the pumpkin mixture to the crockpot, whisking well so you do not get lumps. Cover the crockpot and simmer the soup for 2 or 3 hours. The soup is now ready to serve.

10 Easy Steps For The Perfect Cup Of Espresso At Home

There is nothing like a nice cup of espresso in the morning while reading the paper or after having a nice evening dinner. In this article I'll explain how to make the perfect cup of espresso, so you can enjoy your espresso even more. Follow the steps below and create your own home-made espresso.

4 1 2 Grinder

Step 1: First of all, I'm assuming that you have your own coffee grinder and that you grind your own coffee beans. If you don't, or you are planning to do so, you can skip the rest of this article because the perfect cup of espresso can only be made by using freshly grounded beans.

4 1 2 Grinder

Fill your coffee grinder with beans. Don't use more beans than necessary for the amount of coffee you are now going to make. The quality of the beans will degenerate quickly when exposed to air. This also applies to the coffee in your grinder!

Step 2: Make sure that your cup is warm enough. Usually the cup-heater of your espresso machine doesn't give enough heat to let the cup reach the right temperature. It's better to warm the cup with hot water. It's best not to use the warm water from your espresso machine, this decreases the temperature in the boiler of your machine, especially machines equipped with one boiler. Machines that have two boilers will supply water that is too hot for the cup, causing the coffee to burn when it's poured into the cup. If the cup-heater of your espresso machine does supply enough heat, be sure to place the cups in the middle, this is often the hottest zone. Make sure you place the cups up-side-down to capture the heat, but don't stack the cups.

Step 3: Dry your cup, make sure you do this before you remove the portafilter from your espresso machine. This prevents the portafilter from cooling down.

Step 4: Remove the portafilter from your machine. Rinse the portafilter for a very short time (no longer than 2 seconds!) with hot water from the machine. This is done to rinse and clean the portafilter. Make sure you don't rinse too long or with too much water, otherwise the water temperature in your machine will drop too much. By the way, always keep the portafilter placed in your machine and not next to it, this keeps the portafilter at the right temperature and ready for use.

Step 5: Clean the portafilter and make sure it's dry, you don't want the coffee and water to spatter all around your machine. This prevents a mess and it keeps the humidity as stable as possible in the environment around your coffee beans.

Step 6:

Now grind the right amount of coffee beans. Don't use more coffee than necessary to prevent oxidation of the remaining coffee grinding. Espresso uses a very fine grind, you only know if the grind is good when the brewing water is extracted in the right amount of time. (see step 10) You should use 6,5 grams of coffee to fill your portafilter.

Step 7:

Make sure you level the coffee with your finger and compact the coffee from 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock. This will improve the extraction later. Water always takes the path of least resistance causing the less dense coffee to be over-extracted and the surrounding denser grounds will not receive enough water flow and will be under-extracted.

Step 8:

Now use your tamper to apply pressure to your coffee grind. Be sure to use a tamper that fits exactly in the portafilter. Sometimes you'll receive a plastic tamper when you buy an espresso machine, they are usually incapable for applying enough pressure. Apply about 20-25 kg of pressure, if you're unsure how much that is, try pressing on a scale. You'll see that you tend to apply too much pressure. There are also devices available like a Clickertamp, which gives a click when enough pressure is applied.

Press down evenly with 20 to 25 kg of pressure, focusing more on being even than on pressure. Twist the tamper as you lift it upwards to prevent the coffee grounds from lifting with the packer. Gently remove the tamper. Make sure the edges of the portafilter are clean, this prevents problems when placing the portafilter in the machine. It also prevents coffee grind falling into your cup underneath the portafilter.

Step 9:

Put the portafilter in your espresso machine and immediately turn it on! If you wait too long, the coffee will burn due to the high temperature of the machine. Be sure that your espresso machine is set to produce 30cc of coffee in the cup. If you use a small cup, you can lift it up in the beginning to prevent spatters.

Step 10:

Keep an eye on the extraction time of the coffee, the ideal time is 25-28 seconds. If you want you can use a stopwatch. If it takes a shorter amount of time, the grind size is too big. If it takes longer, the grind is too fine and your coffee will taste bitter. In both of the cases adjust the grinding size of your coffee grinder.

Finally check the color of the crema, this has to be brown and evenly distributed over the surface. The crema layer should be strong enough to hold a spoon of sugar for several seconds. The perfect espresso smells like fresh roasted coffee beans and gives a 'round' taste in your mouth. You'll often recognize the perfect espresso after you tasted it for the first time. Enjoy!

12 AMP Power with SJS to Protect Gears
The 9564CV is powered by a 12 AMP motor with soft start for smoother start-ups. The five-stage variable speed dial (2,800 - 10,500 RPM) allows the user to match the RPM to the application. The electronic limiter stops the motor and reduces accidental motor overload and burnout, and the electronic speed control maintains consistent speed under load. Labyrinth construction protects the motor with a complex set of channels, prohibiting dust and contamination. In addition, the protective zig-zag varnish seals the motor and bearings from dust and debris by creating a barrier under rotation. The 9564CV is engineered with SJS, an innovation from Makita that protects the gears by automatically disengaging the motor should the grinding wheel accidentally catch or bind.

Comfort and Ergonomics
The 9564CV is built with comfort and ergonomic features for extended use. The grinder weighs just 4 pounds with a lock-on switch for easy operation. In addition, the side handle can be easily installed on either side of the tool, and the "tool-less" wheel guard adjustment provides easy clamping.

Variable Speed for Stone Work
The 9564CV is a versatile and powerful grinder with variable speed, allowing the user to set the RPM to the material. The variable speed control feature makes the 9564CV ideal for stone work, including polishing and grinding. The 9564CV is just another example of Makita's commitment to innovative technology and best-in-class engineering.

About Makita's Super Joint System (SJS)
Super Joint System (SJS) is an innovation from Makita engineering where the motor armature and spiral bevel gear are linked by a coil spring. If the grinding wheel catches or binds, the coil spring relaxes and disengages the gears from the motor. As the grinding wheel stops, the gears and motor are protected. Makita's growing line of SJS-equipped grinders includes models ranging from a 1/4" die grinder to a 7-inch angle grinder.
